The market is definitely in the down trending bearish market. I am sure no one will disagree with that. Indeed, there are lots of people losing lots of money in the bear market, however, do you know that you can also make a profit in the bear market as well?

I am now working on some back testing in order to develop a trading system for myself. I am indeed surprise with some of my back testing results to give me a almost 60% Return on Investment (ROI) in during the 4 month period from Jun 1 - Oct 1, 2008.

I am testing some trading system on the US markets. I have seen many richest in the world are losing their wealth due to the recent market turmoil. However, there are also many people making lots of money as well because they have a trading system to help them making a profit in this downward trending bearish market.

A trading systems comprises of entry signal, exit signal in term of profit taking or stop loss, position sizing and risk management.

Being an engineer by training, I strongly believe in system. We need a system to guide us in order to achieve consistent return in our stock trading. Therefore, I was spending some time last few weeks to study various method of trading system.

To my surprise, one of my trading system was able to give me a 60% ROI in merely 4 months period. That’s amazing to me. I have not yet optimise the system yet and I am now testing on a few parameters to study its robustness.

Well, I will be sharing more in details in the next few days about the system I have tested. I am planning to do some forward testing on the actual market as well.
