Cash ISA’s allow you to save a capped amount of money tax-free, which is understandably a desirable method of saving.  Currently, if you’re aged in between 16-50 you are allowed to save up to £3,600 annually tax-free in a cash ISA account.  When you hit 50 this allowance will increase to £5,100 per annum.  However, as of April 2010, everyone will be allowed to save up to £5100 per year.

There is a wide-spread confusion about how much you have to deposit into your cash ISA.  Many companies allow you to deposit as little as £1, and you can deposit as much or as little, as frequently as you like.  Other companies however, will ask you to deposit a certain amount.  Remember, you are only allowed to deposit £3,600 tax-free throughout the year.

People often wonder about withdrawing the funds in their cash ISA account.  There should be an option to open an easy-access cash ISA account, where you can withdraw your money whenever you please.  However, by withdrawing before the end of the tax year you may be losing some of the tax-free privileges.  Moneysupermarket says, ‘you will lose the tax-free status on anything you withdraw, so it is worth keeping your money invested in ISAs for as long as possible and use any other savings first.’  This will ensure that your interest rate is more likely to stay the same, as you can be penalised in this area if withdraw money from your account.

Attractive Return but Please Stay Out from Oil Market

The NYMEX is now trading above the 200d moving average now and I do see higher high formation. This confirm the upward trend of the crude oil price. The reuters report definitely suggest a continue upward movement is highly probable if the demand outpace the supply in 2010.

It may look to be an attractive investment to buy or long on crude oil now. However, I would not want to participate in the oil trading neither I like to encourage oil trading because oil price can result in many major impact to inflation and this can result in many more people suffering due to increase in the cost of living. I would like to encourage everyone to stay away from trading or speculation in the oil market that this is not the right thing to do for mankind.

I found a great chart summarizing the 2009 year-to-date percentage change (local currency) for the major equity indices of 82 countries. 71 of the 82 countries are in positive territory, and the average change of all countries is 33.27%.

Emerging Markets Tops 2009 World Market Performance

It is interesting to note that emerging markets perform much better compared to developed markets. In particular, the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China) have been standouts this year. Russia is up the most out of all countries with a gain of 126.71%. Brazil, China, and India are all up more than 70%.

Learning Candlestick through Expert’s Video

I have bought some books before to read about candlestick, but every time I read, I fell into sleep half way. It is not that easy to understand and grasp the candlestick concept. This is the main reason why I am changing to another learning method by watching a video.

I am more a visual person, by watching the candlestick learning video with my own eyes, I can comprehend the candlestick concept better and make it easier to remember all the candlestick pattern.

Anyway, this is just the beginning of my learning journey and I will update more about what I learn on this blog.
